March 30 starts the Jewish feast of Passover that has been fulfilled by Jesus’ death. But did you know this? Yeshua died on the Feast of Pessah, was buried on the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and rose on the Feast of First Fruits. Fifty days later the Holy Spirit was sent on the next successive holiday; Shavuot (Pentecost).Jesus the Messiah fulfilled the Jewish feasts. Yet “He came to His own and His own received Him not. Jn1:11” So now Jesus has come to the gentiles (us). “The same Stone that was rejected by the builders has become the Cornerstone. 1Peter 2:7 This is the cornerstone of a NEW STRUCTURE! This is how God builds His Kingdom. He builds the NEW, but He builds it upon a foundation He already laid. In this instance, the old foundation of the Jewish feasts, the sacrifices, the temple, Abraham, and how about Melchizedek from Genesis 14:18?
Practically everything recorded in God’s Word gets fulfilled.
This is how God builds!I want to take a look at God’s present structures and their foundations.
THE PRESENT STRUCTURE – THE BELIEVERS IN JESUS CHRIST
Let us talk about “NEW” for a minute. Out of the rejection of the Jewish Messiah (Jesus) came the believers in Christ known as Christians, who by being born again, have the new covenant in His blood written upon their hearts! Yet that was even prophesied in “old” book of Jeremaih 31:33,34 with this great promise:
“I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares the Lord, “for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”
THE CURRENT BUILDING
If the current building is established deep within the heart of believers, and if we are corporately His body on earth, (Rom.12:5) this building looks invisible in the natural world in that it has no “land” or “race” yet it is corporately doing God’s will. Ephesians 2:20 says, ”its’ foundation is the apostles and the prophets; and the cornerstone of the building is Jesus Christ himself.”
God is currently using his people to dismantle the rule and reign of Satan’s kingdom until all be put under His feet. This work will extend throughout the purging that Christ comes back to do at the end of this “church age”.
“You have put all things in subjection under his feet. For in subjecting all things to him, He left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him.” Hebrews 2:8
“For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. 1 Cor 15:25”
The purging will end with the finishing touches of the righteous anger of God called the “great tribulation”, where the earth shall be purged of its’ evil for the installing of the King of Kings. This purging starts with the book of the seven seals recorded in Revelation 5 – 19.
THE NEXT STRUCTURE – THE MILLENNIAL RULE OF CHRIST
The next structure is based of course upon the completed purging, so that for a thousand years Christ will reign as the supreme ruler of the earth. It is the time period marked by this phrase:
“so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:10,11
It is prophesied of in the old testament Daniel 2 44 “During the reigns of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed; no one will ever conquer it. It will shatter all these kingdoms into nothingness, but it shall stand forever, indestructible. 45 That is the meaning of the Rock cut from the mountain without human hands.
Lets’ all guess where his throne will be? Could it be that city called Jerusalem? Yes indeed. He will rule from Mount Zion which is the original Mount Moriah where Abraham was asked to sacrifice His son of promise named Isaac. “But as for Me, I have installed My King Upon Zion, My holy mountain.” Psalm2:6
“From them will come the Cornerstone, the Peg on which all hope hangs, the Bow that wins the battle, the Ruler over all the earth. Zech 10:4
What will it be like? What will we do? The Bible gives us these descriptions:
“And many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, To the house of the God of Jacob; That He may teach us concerning His ways And that we may walk in His paths.” For the law will go forth from Zion And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.” Is 2:3
“Then the Lord will create over the whole area of Mount Zion and over her assemblies a cloud by day, even smoke, and the brightness of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory will be a canopy.” Is 4:5
“Thus says the Lord, ‘I will return to Zion and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the Lord of hosts will be called the Holy Mountain.” Zech 8:3
There is something else about his rule. All nations will submit to Him and there will be no more war…. only peace. This is to fulfill God’s seventh day of rest in His creation.
1. “Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.” Gen.2:3
2. The Jews keep a weekly Sabbath rest on the seventh day to honor God’s creation rest.
3. The Christians kept a resurrection day celebration on the first day of the week.
4. Christ keeps a rule of peace on this earth for 1,000 years, to finish off the 6,000 years of God’s interaction with mankind. Yes!
God gives us earth-people another thousand years to learn respect for God and His ways. This is to see if we can overcome the flesh without the input of the devil. This ends badly for those unable to overcome the flesh for they will fail with no excuse of “the devil made me do it. ”
Will we learn? The bible says no. For you see the devil will be let loose again from his 1000 year imprisonment to deceive the nations again. Revelation 20:1-4,7,8
At the end of this peace and rest structure there will be one last rebellion that is a very final judgment, and the earth is folded up like a garment to make way for a NEW HEAVENS AND NEW EARTH !
THE ULTIMATE STRUCTURE
God never gives up on man, who was made in His image. Revelation 21 is the record of what this New Heavens and New Earth Structure will look like. It even has a NEW JERUSALEM THAT BECOMES ITS’ SUN ! Its’ foundation is the apostles of the Lamb.
LESSONS
As we have walked through these structures of God, I noticed a cleansing along the way with a shedding of evil as we advanced. The New Heavens and New Earth was totally God’s creation, yet it was made for man to dwell in, even though we had destroyed this planet. All He ever asked us to do was to till the garden in Eden, and stay in communion with Him. What if we had simply done it? YET…. He still cared enough to make a way out for His family.
